In 1867 Wilhelm Putsch founded the saw blade factory of the same name in Remscheid. The company initially produced circular saw blades and hand saws for woodworking under the brand name "Hundehütte", one of the oldest registered trademarks in Germany.

Today the company produces and sells under the brand WILPU - Made in Germany - jigsaw blades, reciprocating saw blades, hole saws and saw blades for oscillating machines as well as handsaws at two locations in Remscheid on an area of about ten thousand square meters.

Due to the topographical location on a mountain with numerous streams as a driving force for water-driven grinding stones and blacksmith hammers, the first tool factories were built in Remscheid in the 16th century. Steam engines and electric drives replaced these drives over time.

With the growing popularity of the electric jigsaw the production of jigsaw blades as an accessory for this power tool was started 1947 under the WILPU brand. Wilh. Putsch is thus the first German manufacturer of this product group. In 1971 the production program was expanded to include the reciprocating saw blade product group and in the following decades it was supplemented by numerous product variants.

The development and commissioning of our own production line for bimetallic hole saws followed in 2001 as a third product group in the field of power tool accessories.

Accessories for oscillating saws and handsaws complete the offer.

The tool industry has shaped Remscheid like no other branch. Here we are only happy to "tinker" - the local word for inventing, trying and crafting. The "Seaside Town on the Mountain" houses world-famous brands that have been distributed worldwide for over 100 years.

So it's no coincidence that people here are closely tied to traditional companies, in-house products and their brands. This entrepreneurial culture has made Remscheid cosmopolitan and tolerant.

Wilh. Putsch GmbH & Co. KG is known today for one of the most competent sawing technology programs in the field of power tool accessories on the market. Not only under the own brand WILPU but also in private-label of numerous customer brands.

The fifth-generation family-owned company employs nearly 100 people and has long-term close and successful customer relationships worldwide.
